Jim Marchbank and Toby Jenkins join TVO’s board

TVO announced Tuesday that the Ontario Government has appointed Sudbury-based Jim Marchbank (pictured) and Waterloo-based Toby Jenkins to the public broadcaster’s board of directors.

Marchbank joins TVO after 25 years as CEO of the science centre, Science North. While there, he oversaw numerous expansions to the public-industry facility, including the addition of the F. Jean MacLeod Butterfly Gallery and an IMAX theatre.

He also oversaw the beginning of film production and distribution at Science North, and is an active member of the community, serving on the boards for the Sudbury Food Bank and the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership.

Meanwhile, Jenkins has established a reputation as an entrepreneur with a philosophy for active living, founding TechTown, a community services building that includes Jenkins’ Columbia Lake Health Club, a café, a full-service daycare and more.

She has also worked as an urban planner, volunteer and activist, serving as the board chair for Grand River Hospital and Waterloo Ventures.
