Looking to create a film market to rival that at Serge Losique’s Montreal World Film Festival, the Fantasia International Film Festival on Monday said it expects to draw 250 film buyers and other industry professionals to its Rendez-Vous and Frontières international co-production market.
In all, 84 international producers, 59 filmmakers, 27 distributors, 11 sales agents, 24 international press and 20 festival programmers are set to attend the Fantasia market, as they look to talk shop, acquire finished films or partner on future projects.
That industry showing comes on top of around 100 filmmakers, producers and actors set to present their films at Fantasia.
The four-day industry gathering will feature networking sessions and panel discussions on hot-button topics like co-production funding, shooting films in Quebec and direct-to-fan digital marketing.
The Fantasia International Film Festival is set to run from July 19 to Aug. 9, with the industry programming scheduled for July 26 to 29.
