Lara Thompson upped to EVP, filmed entertainment at eOne

Lara Thompson, current worldwide acquisitions senior VP at Entertainment One, has been promoted to the newly created role of EVP, filmed entertainment.

“I’m looking forward to diving even deeper into the international film community, developing new partnerships and accessing premium titles at the earliest possible stage in the game for our global pipeline,” said Thompson in a statement.

Thompson, who joined eOne in 2008, will focus on growing the filmed entertainment divisions worldwide, as eOne acquires rights across multiple territories via relationships with film producers, distributors and sales agents worldwide.

She will continue to oversee the company’s worldwide film acquisition operations and work with eOne’s global teams to source multi-territory opportunities for the film division and international sales units.

“[Thompson]’s impressive expertise of the international landscape, strong relationships in the film community and aptitude for sourcing top product has supported the company’s growth in its core territories and worldwide,” said Patrice Théroux, eOne president of filmed entertainment in a statement.

Before joining eOne, Thompson worked as SVP, worldwide acquisitions at Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group.

She will continue to report to Théroux and work out of eOne’s L.A. office.
