Aboriginal People’s Television Network veteran Cheryl McKenzie has been named as the new co-host and producer of APTN National News.

McKenzie joined APTN in 2001 as a reporter, and in 2005, helped launch the network’s second live daily newscast, APTN National News: Daytime, working as the telecast’s host and producer.

She also hosted and produced current affairs phone-in program, Contact.

For the last three seasons, McKenzie has been host and producer for APTN InFocus and APTN Investigates.

McKenzie, who will co-host with news anchor Michael Hutchinson, takes her post effective May 7.
