Noreen Halpern leaving Entertainment One Television

Los Angeles-based Noreen Halpern is exiting Entertainment One Television as president of dramatic programming.

A statement from the Canadian producer stressed the parting “amicable” and that Halpern, who headed up scripted programming at the company, will remain in her post through a transition period.

Her departure follows Toronto-based Entertainment One taking itself off of the auction block after fielding buyer interest for parts or all of the company. Yesterday, the company announced a new head of television for Canada – a newly created position – in former eOne COO Margaret O’Brien.

Halpern and John Morayniss left Alliance Atlantis Communications in 2002 to launch Blueprint Entertainment, which was acquired by Entertainment One in 2008 as part of a move into filmed entertainment.

Her TV credits included Hell on Wheels, Rookie Blue and Haven.

“There’s an incredible development slate I’m leaving with a wonderful team who will keep things moving forward. But there are other mountains to climb and I’m looking forward to that,” Halpern said in a statement.

The Los Angeles TV exec gave no indication of her next career move.
