Karen King has left Shaw Media as a production executive for original drama content.
The broadcaster confirmed the recent departure of the veteran production executive who first came to industry notice in 1995 as a co-producer on Clement Virgo’s break-out theatrical feature Rude.
King’s production credits at Shaw Media’s Global Television include Da Kink in My Hair, Shattered and The Guard.
Before joining then Canwest Global Communications Corp., King worked as a production executive at Craig Media’s Toronto One conventional TV station.
King is also the founder of Production Without Borders, which in 2010 organized a showcase of diverse Canadian writers directors, and producers for Hollywood studio execs that shoot U.S. network series in Canada.
