eOne acquires N.A. rights to Wish You Were Here

Entertainment One (eOne) has acquired all North American rights to first-time director Kieran Darcy-Smith’s Wish You Were Here, following the film’s well-reviewed debut at Sundance.

The film, represented by international sales company LevelK, stars Joel Edgerton (Warrior, The Great Gatsby) and Felicity Price (Unfolding Florence) and follows a group of four friends who go to Southeast Asia on holiday when one of them mysteriously disappears.

The deal, which includes all media, was brokered by Sejin Park, eOne’s VP, worldwide acquisitions and LevelK’s sales director Natja Noviani Rosner.

Australian and New Zealand distribution rights were also acquired by eONe subsidiary, Hopscotch.

“This was the first film I screened at Sundance and it was love at first sight,” said David Reckziegel, president, eOne Films North America, in a statement.

Wish You Were Here was produced by Angie Fielder of Aquarius Films and made in association with Blue-Tongue Films.
