Distributor Cineflix Rights has announced several deals for the North American and Latin American markets, with such networks as CNBC, Discovery Latin America and Smithsonian Networks.
The company sold the rights to seasons eight, nine and 11 (23 x 60 minutes) of Canada’s Cineflix Productions’ Mayday: Air Disaster (pictured) to Smithsonian Networks; the Cineflix Productions fixer-upper show Property Brothers (65 x 60 minutes) to Scripps Networks’ HGTV, and seasons two and three of Winnipeg-based Frantic Films’ makeover series Princess (32 x 30 minutes) to CNBC. The deals were brokered by Lucinda Gergley-Garner, head of sales and acquisitions, North America.
In Latin America, Cineflix Rights sold all three seasons of competition series Dinner Party Wars (39 x 30 minutes) to MGM Latin America; In-Law Wedding Wars (13 x 60 minutes) to Discovery Latin America. Both series are produced by Cineflix Productions. Also,the distributor sold Frantic Films’ one-hour documentary and realscreen MIPTV Pick from 2011 End of Men, which examines evolving notions of masculinity, to Fox Latin America and Nat Geo Mundo.
Other LatAm deals included selling Cash n’ Cari (26 x 30 minutes), starring estate sale guru Cari Cucksey, to History Channel Latin America; and Cooker Facts (6 x 30 minutes) to the US channel Galavision.
The Latin American deals were brokered by Sabrina Ayala, VP of sales and acquisitions for Latin America, Iberia and Italy.
