SIGGRAPH returning to Vancouver in 2014

SIGGRAPH is returning to Vancouver in 2014.

The Chicago-based organizers of the North American computer graphics conference on Thursday announced they will be back in the west coast city in two and a half years. SIGGRAPH’s last edition was hosted in Vancouver in August 2011.

“The fact that we are returning to Canada is a direct reflection of its strong and growing computer graphics community,” SIGGRAPH conference advisory group chairman Joe Marks said in a statement.

SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques) will return to Vancouver from Aug. 10 to 14, 2014, after breaking attendance records for the international gathering this summer.

SIGGRAPH 2011 hosted nearly 16,000 filmmakers, research scientists, gaming experts and developers from 74 countries, with around half coming from the U.S.

The 40th edition of SIGGRAPH will be held in Anaheim, California in July 2013.
