Cineflix Studios reveals key cast, crew for Copper

Cineflix Studios has announced key cast and crew for its upcoming period drama, Copper, set to air in 2012.

The series, which follows the experiences of an 19th century police officer in NYC’s notorious Five Points neighbourhood (pictured, archival), will star Tom Weston-Jones (MI-5/Spooks) in the lead role as Irish-American cop Kevin Corcoran, with Canadian actor Kyle Schmid, pictured, (Blood Ties, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) supporting in the role of “handsome bon vivant” Robert Morehouse.

Also in the cast are German actress Franka Potente (The Bourne Supremacy, Run Lola Run) and Brit Anastasia Griffith (Royal Pains, Damages).

Key Canadian crew include Steve Cosens as DOP, John Blackie as production designer and costume designer Delphine White.

The series, created by Tom Fontanta and Will Rokos, is set to air on BBC America this summer, and Showcase in Canada this fall. Executive producers on the series include Fontana, Rokos, Barry Levinson and Cineflix president Christina Wayne.
