Global sets Bomb Girls premiere date

Global TV is hoping Bomb Girls will blow up on Wednesday nights.

The new six-part series, produced by Montreal-based prodcos Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Films, is set to premiere Wednesday Jan. 4, 2012 at 8 p.m..

The scheduling reflects Global’s high hopes for the series, as Wednesday at 8 p.m. is traditionally one of the hotter slots of the week and is currently filled by ratings all-star Survivor.

The series, executive produced by Michael Prupas, Janis Lundman, Michael MacLennan and Adrienne Mitchell, follows the lives of Canadian women working in munitions factories in WWII.  Starring are Meg Tilly, Jodi Balfour, Charlotte Hegele, Ali Liebert and Anastasia Philips.

Mitchell is also co-showrunner on Bomb Girls alongside MacLennan, and MacLennan is also the series’ head writer.
