Marci Ien replaces Seamus O’Regan as Canada AM co-host

Marci Ien has moved up from news anchor at Canada AM to co-hosting the CTV’s flagship morning show alongside Beverly Thomson.

She replaces Seamus O’Regan on the Canada AM couch as he shifts to CTV National News with Lisa LaFlamme.

Ien has been the news anchor for Canada AM for eight years, and regularly stepped in as substitute host of the morning show. She will start her co-hosting duties in January 2012, after completing a maternity leave.

Her promotion to permanent co-host was announced by Lis Travers, VP and executive producer of Canada AM.

Ien started her broadcast career at age 10 on the kids show Circle Square. Her TV journalist stints then took her to CHCH and then CTV’s news division, starting in 1997.
