CBC/Radio-Canada names new French language network ombudsman

Radio-Canada has a new ombudsman, veteran pubcaster employee Pierre Tourangeau, who replaces Julie Miville-Dechene.

Tourangeau gets the new assignment after serving as senior director, content, news and current affairs information for Radio-Canada.

He will take the new post next week after Miville-Dechene left the ombudsman job in July to become the president of the Quebec Council for the Status of Women.

“Pierre brings close to 35 years of journalistic experience to the role of ombudsman, having worked in almost every area of media, including television, radio and print,” CBC president Hubert T. Lacroix said in a statement while unveiling Tourangeau’s appointment.
