Seamus O’Regan is leaving Canada AM to become a correspondent on CTV National News, the CTV network’s flagship nightly newscast.

O’Regan’s final day as co-host of Canada AM, a morning job he filled for nine years, is Nov. 24.

His replacement will be announced at that time.

O’Regan will then join CTV National News on Nov. 28.

His job change was announced by CTV News president Wendy Freeman.

CTV also announced that its 24 cable channel has hired veteran banker Patricia Lovett-Reid as its full-time senior financial commentator, to start in early 2012.

Lovett-Reid comes to CTV News Channel from TD Waterhouse Canada, where she currently works as SVP. Over the past 10 years, she as made frequent appearances on BNN and other Bell Media outlets.
