The Digi Awards announce short list

The rebranded Canadian New Media Awards – now called The Digi Awards – announced the short list for their annual prize-giving gala last night, naming almost 100 companies in 31 media categories.

Announced at Red Bull Canada’s swanky Toronto office Nov. 3, the list includes a wide range of Canadian digital media producers, developers and media companies.

Nominated in the Best Web Series categories are JLeaver Presentations’ Out With Dad (pictured), Jimmylee.tv’s Radio-Canada-hosted Fabrique moi un conte and La Press Tele’s Zieuter.tv in the Drama category; the NFB’s My Tribe is My Life, Skills PEI’s N3XT TV and Glassbox Media’s Papillon in the Entertainment category and the NFB’s Welcome to Pine Point and Solider Brother, as well as Radio-Canada’s 10 musulmans, 10 ans après (Muslims in Canada, 10 years later) in the Factual category.

Cross-Platform category nominees include Kratts Brother’s Company’s Wild Kratts Interactive, Turbulent Media’s Mixmania 2 and Corus’s Babar and the Adventures of Badou in the Kids category; Marblemedia’s The Dating Guy, Stitch Media Inc.’s Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour Interactive Quest, and Radio-Canada and lvl* studio’s 19-2 in the Entertainment category.
