Pure Pwnage, the Canadian mockumentary that was hatched on the web in 2004 before becoming a short-lived Showcase sitcom is now headed back online.
Eight episodes of the web-to-TV comedy from Ron Mann’s Sphinx Productions and Catherine Tait’s Duopoly is now streaming on the free, ad-supported Hulu and the Hulu Plus subscription service stateside.
The homegrown comedy about obsessive gamers already has a strong following on the internet, helping to fuel earlier international TV sales.
Now Americans are getting their first look at Pure Pwnage, via Hulu.
Duopoly has an existing supply deal with Hulu, having launched over 150 episodes of animation on the platform, including the series Odd Job Jack, Chilly Beach and Yam Roll.
The TV series was written by Jarett Cale, Geoff Lapaire and Mark Steinberg, with Derek Harvie showrunning.
Executive producers of Pure Pwnage are Tait of Duopoly and Mann from Sphinx, with Davin Lengyel as co-producer.
