Entertainment One has promoted Allen Blackwell to VP of video urban film and comedy at its Entertainment One U.S. division.

Blackwell, who joined the Canadian producer in January 2010 as senior director of urban film and comedy, is based in Los Angeles and has focused on acquiring and distributing video content in the film and comedy genres.

Since then, he’s brokered deals with U.S. partners like Comedy Central, Showtime, BET and SiriusXM.

Blackwell will continue to report to Entertainment One U.S. president Michael E. Rosenberg.
