The Kennedys nabs three Creative Arts Emmys

Muse Entertainment’s The Kennedys walked away from the Creative Arts Emmys this weekend with three awards in its tote bag, winning for makeup, hairstyling and sound mixing.

The miniseries, which aired on History Television in Canada and Realzchannel in the U.S. earlier this year, was the leading Canadian or Canada-affiliated production to win at the Emmy celebration this weekend.

Also winning over the Emmy’s jurists were The Borgias, a Canada-Ireland coproduction, for its costuming and original main title theme music, an award that marked the second Emmy win for Ontario-born Trevor Morris. Multinational coproduction The Pillars of the Earth won for sound mixing.

The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards will be handed out Sept. 18. The Kennedys is up for several Primetime Emmys, as are The Borgias and The Pillars of the Earth. Epitome Pictures’s Degrassi is nominated for Outstanding Children’s Programming.
