Toronto-based prodco Marblemedia has named former Magna Entertainment exec Blake Tohana to its executive team.

Tohana will take up a dual role as CFO and COO, overseeing the expansion of new divisions and departments, including the interactive group, factual and lifestyle division and Distribution360.

“Blake will be implementing strategies to further expand our business in Canada as well as in international markets,” said Mark Bishop and Matthew Hornburg, partners and executive producers at marblemedia, in a joint statement.

Tohana comes to Marblemedia with more than 15 years experience in senior management in the media and entertainment industry, most recently coming from Magna Entertainment Corp. as its EVP and CFO.

He’s also held roles at Fireworks Entertainment and Alliance Communications Corp., and is currently a member of the Ontario Media Development Corporation’s board of directors.
