Shaun Majumder and Tricia Helfer join The Firm

Canadian actors Shaun Majumder and Tricia Helfer have signed on to Global Television/NBC’s The Firm, which has started shooting in Toronto.

Both will appear in recurring roles, Majumder as Andrew Palmer and Helfer as Alex Clark, in the one-hour drama from Entertainment One, Sony Pictures Television Networks and NBC. The Firm is set to bow in 2012.

Majumder and Helfer join fellow Canadian actors Molly Parker and Callum Keith Rennie in a cast that includes Josh Lucas and Juliette Lewis.

The series is based on the 1991 novel by John Grisham, and continues the story of attorney Mitch McDeere and his family.

The executive producers are Grisham, Lukas Reiter, John Morayniss, Michael Rosenberg and Noreen Halpern.

David Straiton (House, Fringe) will direct the two-hour premiere episode and Helen Shaver will co-executive produce The Firm and direct multiple episodes.

The Firm will shoot on sound stages in Mississauga through April 2012, with Paula Devonshire producing.
