Air Canada has announced the jury for its annual enRoute Film Festival, naming Canadian film industry luminaries and actors to the panel.
Directors Adam Egoyan (Chloe) and Jean-Marc Vallee (Young Victoria), producer Don Carmody (Chicago) and actors Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage) and Molly Parker (The Road) will evaluate 21 selected shorts for film-fest prizes.
Accolades include Best Short Film, Achievement in Direction, Achievement in Cinematography, and Achievement in Animation. The winners of each category get a trip for two to the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France and the winner of the grand prize gets $5,000.
The festival showcases the work of up-and-coming Canadian talent – those submitting films must have been in a film studies program or training from September 2009 or later.
All 21 films are currently available to Air Canada passengers on the airline’s in-flight entertainment system.
The winning films will be screened for free at Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto in November.
