X-Summit announces featured speakers

Machinima topper Allen DeBevoise and OpenMedia.ca founder Steve Anderson have been added as speakers at the upcoming X-Summit 2011 conference in October, organizers said Thursday.

DeBevoise is the chairman and CEO of Machinima, the website and online community for hosting and sharing user-generated animated videos using video game engines.

Machinima drew 75 million visitors in June 2011, according to the website.

Also booked into the X-Summit is Steve Anderson, founder and executive director of OpenMedia.ca, a not-for-profit that campaigns for net neutrality, gaming theorist and journalist Tom Chatfield, and Gamification CEO Gabe Zichermann.

X-Summit 2011, a cross-media conference and partnering forum organized by Interactive Ontario, is set to go from Oct. 24 to 26 at The Carlu in Toronto.
