W bulks up on reality and soaps

Corus Entertainment’s W Network on Wednesday unveiled a busy fall 2011 slate of new reality series and soaps.

The fall slate leads off with Lifetime’s Roseanne’s Nuts and USA Networks’ Necessary Roughness, starring Rescue Me‘s Callie Thorne.

The Roseanne’s Nuts reality sees Roseanne Barr run a 40-acre macadamia and livestock farm in Hawaii with boyfriend Johnny Argent and son Jake.

Necessary Roughness is a prime time soap about a woman, played by Callie Thorne, whose career as a therapist for a football team takes off thanks to her tough love approach.

The Canadian specialty also acquired Sibling Rivalry, a Cream Productions docu-soap about twin brother and sister Dan and Nikki Hall building their own investment dream home.

Also bound for W is the U.S.-based Bravo cooking competition series Rocco’s Dinner Party, which features chefs competing to stage the perfect evening for celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito and his private dinner guests.

W also picked up for fall 2011 the Lifetime series Picker Sisters, about Extreme Home Makeover’s Tanya McQueen and Tracy Huston criss-crossing the U.S. to find items to sell in their Los Angeles home store.

Returning to the Corus Entertainment specialty channel this fall are new seasons of Candice Tells All, Come Dine with Me Canada, Love it or List It and Property Brothers.
