Entertainment One continues to sign up online streaming deals to offset soft DVD sales by inking a content deal between European subscription service Lovefilm and its UK distribution arm.
The five-year deal will see Lovefilm subscribers receive exclusive access on their computers or TV sets to new and future movies from Entertainment One UK.
The deal with Lovefilm, which is owned by Amazon.com, will start with The Twilight Saga and includes Paul WS Anderson’s The Three Musketeers in 3D, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and The Ides of March.
“We’re absolutely delighted to do this deal with Lovefilm…I feel this is a landmark deal for both parties,” Alex Hamilton, director of film at Entertainment One, said in a statement.
Lovefilm already has streaming movie deals with Alliance Films’ Momentum film unit in the UK, as well as Disney, Icon, Lionsgate, MGM, Optimum and Warner Bros.
