Telefilm Canada and the Rogers Group of Funds have extended their film funding partnership through the Theatrical Documentary Program for 2011-2012.
The fund, worth $1.5 million, receives $1 million from Telefilm and the balance through Rogers. Eligibility requirements include having a firm commitment from an eligible Canadian distribution company.
Applicants may apply for funding support for production and post-production stages, and no funding is offered at the development stage.
“Telefilm Canada and the Rogers Group of Funds came together with the intent to support projects that will attract distribution and that have wide audience appeal,” Michel Pradier, Telefilm’s director of project financing, tells Playback Daily.
Since 2007, the partnership has supported 27 productions, including Reel Injun (Reel Indian), Last Train Home, Le Coeur d’Auschwitz, La nuit, elles dansent and Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould (pictured).
The upcoming program deadlines are Sept. 2 for French-language projects and Sept. 30 for English-language projects. For more information and guidelines, click here.
