Gary Farmer and Tantoo Cardinal have joined the cast for the second season of Blackstone from Prairie Dog Film + Television.

Returning for the sophomore run of the APTN drama is Carmen Moore, Eric Schweig, Michelle Thrush, Nathaniel Arcand, Roseanne Supernault, Steven Cree Molison and Andrea Menard.

Not returning to the Blackstone set is the veteran Cree actor Gordon Tootoosis, who died on July 5 at age 69 years.

Production on the one hour drama about a fictional First Nation reserve will resume from July 18 in Edmonton and rural Alberta.
