UK pay-TV network Military History has done a deal with Canadian producer-distributor Breakthrough Entertainment to pick up documentary series Combat Forces and season two of Greatest Tank Battles.
Combat Forces is a 26-part series from Jencor Entertainment profiling the intense training process that soldiers, sailors and airmen are subjected to in order to become “the best of the best.”
Greatest Tank Battles, meanwhile, uses CGI to capture the stories of war veterans, in a bid “to recreate the drama of the battlefield, allowing viewers to witness and better understand both the courage and sacrifice of the brave men who fought for their countries.”
Nat Abraham, Breakthrough’s VP of distribution and acquisitions, said he was “confident that Military History viewers will enjoy the sophisticated visuals as well as the engaging stories” in the shows.
AETN UK is a joint venture between A+E Networks and BSkyB. In addition to Military History, other channels in the JV include History, Crime & Investigation Network and Bio, all of which are available in standard and HD versions.
