Entertainment One’s Australian distribution outfit has followed its parent and landed a multi-year supply deal with Lakeshore Entertainment.
The agreement will see Hopscotch, acquired by the Canadian distributor in May, release Lakeshore Entertainment films in Australia and New Zealand in all media.
U.S.-based Lakeshore is best known for pictures like Million Dollar Baby, The Lincoln Lawyer and Runaway Bride.
Hopscotch will release up to four Lakeshore titles a year. Entertainment One has been servicing the U.S. producer in Canada since 2007.
Tom Rosenberg, chairman and CEO of Lakeshore Entertainment, said Entertainment One “has been a trusted partner for us over the past several years” and his company welcomes being alongside the Canadian distributor as it expands overseas.
The first Lakeshore title to be released by Hopscotch is the Amanda Seyfried-starrer Gone, set for a February 2012 release.
