Predictions that Entertainment One’s Peppa Pig kids series would prove contagious in the U.S. market are starting to come true.
The Canadian producer on Monday said the U.K.-hatched series is now airing daily on Nick Jr. after a successful broadcast launch in February.
“Peppa’s move to a weekday slot, in addition to the existing weekend broadcast, demonstrates that the show is already becoming a favourite in the U.S.,” Darren Throop, CEO of Entertainment One, said in a statement.
He added: “We are very proud that the program is already ranked in Nick Jr’s top 10 and are confident, with the strong viewing figures reported, that Peppa Pig will continue to thrive in the U.S.”
Created by Astley Baker Davies, Peppa Pig is co-owned and distributed by Entertainment One.
The Nick Jr. expansion comes ahead of a planned consumer products rollout for the Peppa Pig franchise in the U.S. market.
