A Little Bit Zombie kicks off production

Comedy/horror A Little Bit Zombie is beginning principal photography in Sudbury, Ontario, marking the feature film debut of director and producer Casey Walker.

The film stars Crystal Lowe (pictured, Hot Tub Time Machine), Kristopher Turner (Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures, Instant Star), Shawn Roberts (Resident Evil: Afterlife, Diary of the Dead), Kristin Hager (Textuality, Leslie, My Name is Evil) and Stephen McHattie (Watchmen, A History of Violence), to name a few.

Zombie centers on a man who becomes infected during his bachelor party, and his attempts to keep it together while avoiding an obsessed zombie hunter.

The original screenplay is co-written by Evil Dead: The Musical creator Christopher Bond and Trevor Martin. John Griffith is on board as co-producer with Kevin C.W. Wong as cinematographer.

The film came together via crowdsourced financing, which Walker called My Million Dollar Movie. The strategy? Giving donors a movie frame and producer credit for $10. Since September 2006, 500-plus people from more than 25 countries supported the project, along with funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.

Zombie is produced by Cave Painting Pictures and will be distributed by Full Plate Productions.
