Rainmaker’s Marianne O’Reilly heads to Vancouver Film School

Former Rainmaker and CIS Vancouver president Marianne O’Reilly has taken a top job at the Vancouver Film School.

O’Reilly has been named the new head of the school’s animation and visual effects department, overseeing three VFS programs that teach 3D animation, classical animation and digital character animation.

“I’m honoured to be a part of this world-class school and am incredibly impressed by the quality of work from VFS graduates,” O’Reilly said in a statement.

Her industry experience includes work on Stargate SG-1, The Outer Limits, Dead Like Me, Night at the Museum, Blades of Glory and Changeling.

After heading up the visual effects department at Rainmaker, O’Reilly helped stickhandle the sale of the company’s Vancouver and London facilities to Deluxe Entertainment and the CIS Visual Effects Group in 2008.
