The TIFF Bell Lightbox is getting an infusion of music videos, short films and TV spots, as it launches a new quarterly series Packaged Goods next week.
Guest programmer Rae Ann Fera has culled a variety of these films from around the world, which lets audiences observe the final packaged products through creative filmmaking. It’ll also put a spotlight on directors working independently in music and advertising.
Each of the four series will feature different content and the July installment will incorporate 3D works. The remaining two will follow in October and December.
Packaged Goods kicks off on May 11 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, showcasing new talent originally conceived for the Cíclope International Advertising Craft Festival, then turn its focus to video production house Skin Flicks, founded by UK music video veterans Richard Skinner and John Hassay.
Indie director A.J. Bond and Scott Mackenzie, exec producer of commercial prodco Radke Films, are among the evening’s special guests.
