Ting & Juma, the company mascots at digital studio Rainmaker Entertainment, will receive an animated feature treatment, via veteran Canadian stand up comic Harland Williams.
“I’m ready to take the characters of Ting and Juma to a new level and for the first time give them a real voice,” Williams said in a statement Monday.
The animated duo have already starred in short animation films from Rainmaker, including Stumped, a 50-second short unveiled at 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Ting and Juma also star in the Zapped! video on YouTube.
Now Rainmaker president and executive producer Catherine Winder is pacting with Williams to get an animated feature off the ground.
“There’s no way of knowing what the always unpredictable Harland Williams will say or do next, but his wit and creativity make him an incredible asset to this original project,” said Winder.
Williams’ movie credits include Dumb and Dumber, Half-Baked, and There’s Something About Mary, while he has done stand-up comedy performances for the CBC, CTV, HBO and Comedy Central.
His voice credits include Nickelodeon’s Robot & Monster and Disney’s Kick Buttowski.
Williams is represented by Bricken Entertainment.
