Here are the top-ranked shows in Canada (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM, for April 18 to 24, 2011:
Monday: NHL Playoffs Round 1 at 7 p.m. on CBC shoots and scores its first of five wins for the week (it took every night other than Wednesday and Friday) with an average of 2.579 million viewers per night. Dancing with the Stars at 8 p.m. on CTV twinkle-toed into second place for the night with 2.470 million viewers.
Tuesday: Coming in behind the NHL Playoffs Round 1 for the night was the Dancing with the Stars results show at 9 p.m. on CTV with 1.945 million viewers, slightly less than the 2.039 million viewers it brought in last week.
Wednesday: Not even hockey playoffs could take the #1 spot for the night away from American Idol at 8 p.m. on CTV, which took in 2.579 million viewers, making it the top show for the week. The NHL Playoffs Round 1 came in #2 for the night.
Thursday: American Idol at 8 p.m. on CTV came in #2 for the night behind the hockey playoffs with 2.205 million viewers for the night. The #3 spot for the night went to The Mentalist at 10 p.m. on CTV.
Friday: Cashing in on hockey’s night off for the week, CTV Evening News at 6 p.m. on CTV took the #1 spot for the night with 1.492 million viewers.
Saturday: Coming in behind the playoffs for the night was the CTV National News at 10 p.m. on CTV with 1.227 million viewers.
Sunday: Hockey took its fifth and final night for the week on Sunday and The Amazing Race at 8 p.m. on CTV came in behind at #2 with 2.326 million viewers for the night.
