Industry association Digital Alberta has brought on its first female president, as Michelle Sklar steps into her new position.
The director of marketing and PR for Poynt Corporation, Europe, takes over for former president Larry Jacques, who will stay on as past president.
She is joined by two new members in Edmonton: Oliver Brierley, executive director of Guru Digital Arts College; and digital interactive media entrepreneur Lisa Hagan. Over in Calgary, SVP of digital media strategy and product development for Post Media Steve Buors, also joins the team.
All board members serve a two-year term.
“I couldn’t be more enthusiastic to work with such a knowledgeable and passionate team,” said Sklar in a statement.
“Together we will further develop member services, professional development and showcase Alberta’s industry talent globally.”
The board’s main focus is prepping for The 2011 Digital Alberta Awards on June 6th in Calgary.
