Ratings: Amazing Race hits finish line first

Here are the top-ranked shows in Canada (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM, for April 11 to 17, 2011:

Monday: Dancing with the Stars at 8 pm on CTV kick-ball-changed into another Monday night win with 2.527 million viewers. The celebrity dance show took in enough viewers to make it the #2 show for the week.

Tuesday: NCIS: Los Angeles at 9 pm on Global took a second Tuesday in a row with 2.186 million viewers. The drama beat Dancing with the Stars, which was #2 with 2.039 million viewers.

Wednesday: Survivor: Redemption Island at 8 pm on Global stayed on the island by winning the week with 2.481 million viewers. The reality show beat American Idol, which came in at #2 with 2.456 million viewers.

Thursday: The Big Bang Theory at 8 pm on CTV may not have taken the week, but it still won Thursday night with 2.119 million viewers. This pales in comparison to numbers the week before, when the show brought in 3.219 million viewers.

Friday: Two million viewers watched the NHL Playoffs Round 1 at 7 pm on CBC on Friday, April 15, enough for the post-season game to take the night. Not as many people stayed up for the 10 pm game on CBC though; numbers dropped to 1.982 million viewers to make it the #2 show for the night.

Saturday: NHL Playoffs Round 1 at 7 pm on CBC took its second night of the week with two million viewers on Saturday night. This beats last week’s HNIC Game #1 at 7 pm on CBC game, which brought in 1.619 million viewers.

Sunday: The Amazing Race (pictured) at 8 pm on CTV drew 2.569 million viewers on Sunday, April 17, enough to land it the #1 spot for the night and the week overall. The NHL Playoffs Round 1 game on 7 pm on CBC came in #2 for the night with two million viewers.
