The Red Green Show actor Wayne Robson passed away on Tuesday, aged 64.
“More than a great actor and comedic performer, Wayne Robson was a strong and present advocate for performers rights and the respect of Canadian actors. His support, given unselfishly and always from his heart, was for our industry and community,” Heather Allin, president of ACTRA Toronto, where Robson was a Toronto councilor, said Wednesday in a statement.
Vancouver-born Robson died at home in Stratford, Ontario after succumbing to a heart ailment, according to ACTRA.
“Wayne was an outstanding artist who had a diverse and accomplished career on stage, in film and on television, and his loss will be heavily felt not only here in Stratford but across our country,” added Stratford artistic director Des McAnuff said in a statement.
Robson was scheduled to appear on stage at the Stratford festival this season.
His screen credits included Murdoch Mysteries and Little Mosque on the Prairie.
