Telefilm announced Monday that the International Festival of Independent Cinema of Buenos Aires (BAFICI) will feature Calgary film writer and director Gary Burns in a retrospective.

The fest will showcase the world premiere of his newest film The Future Is Now! along with five other Burns features, The Suburbanators, Kitchen Party, waydowntown, A Problem with Fear and Radiant City (pictured).

“Canada’s industry has long been producing directors who spark great interest in the international festival circuit due to their commitment to exploring new creative territory,” said Carolle Brabant, Telefilm’s executive director in a statement.

BAFICI runs April 6-17 in Buenos Aires.
