The Canada Media Fund’s coffers are apparently filled to bursting as the media fund unveils a new $7.3 million kitty for new digital media projects.
Ahead of releasing the latest performance envelopes for broadcasters on Friday, the public/industry fund said it has created a new digital media incentive program as part of its convergent stream for 2011-2012.
The first-come, first-serve $7.3 million fund will offer non-repayable contributions for up to half of a digital media component’s eligible costs, to a maximum $500,000 per-project.
The CMF’s latest production incentive comes as the fund said it expects to dole out $271 million in its program budget for the coming year, plus an expected extra $100 million when the next federal government releases its annual budget.
