The CFC is gearing up for its Worldwide Short Film Festival this June and it’s kicked off the 2011 Screenplay Giveaway.
One screenplay will be selected by Canuck filmmakers and directors to win a prize package with more than $70,000 in filmmaking resources. That includes post services by Deluxe, studio time at Cinespace Studios, legal counsel, story editing services and consultations with ACTRA and the CFC, to name a few.
Industry readers will review the scripts, and of those selected, a jury will determine the winner based on creativity, originality, quality of writing and overall story. This year’s jury includes Brad Peyton (Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, Evelyn: The Cutest Little Dead Girl), Douglas Coupland (Everything’s Gone Green, jPod) and Aaron Woodley (Toronto Stories, Rhinoceros Eyes).
The winner will be announced at the fest’s award ceremonies on June 5. WSFF takes place from May 31 to June 5.
