Former Chum Ltd. exec and Canadian digital guru Roma Khanna is leaving her post as president of global networks and digital initiatives at NBC Universal International in London.
Khanna joined NBC U four years ago, expanding the studio through local and pan-regional partnerships, creating new channels and strengthening the content and identities of outlets including Sci-Fi and the suspense-themed 13th Street.
But she also reported to NBC U International president Peter Smith, who left the studio three weeks ago as part of a restructuring by parent Comcast.
Khanna is similarly leaving one of the biggest media businesses in Britain as Comcast places Jeff Shell and Kevin MacLellan atop its overseas business.
Shell in a statement said of Khanna’s exit: “Roma is an outstanding executive who has done a remarkable job of building our network business. While I had hoped she would remain part of our leadership team, I wish her much success in her future career.”
Khanna has been here before. She was senior vice president of content at Chum, but left in June 2007 following that company’s takeover by then CTVglobemedia.
