Corner Gas props on sale for charity

Prairie Pants Productions, the prodco behind Corner Gas, will be selling more than 1,000 props, costumes and set pieces from the Canuck TV series in Regina, with part of the proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.

Everything from the living room to outdoor furniture to the Corner Gas counters and stools, and desktop items will be on sale over the course of three days. There will also be a live auction with auctioneer Cavan Cunningham, who played Mayor Fitzy and presided over the fictional town of Dog River.

“The set was built to make 13 episodes of Corner Gas over the course of one summer,” said executive producer Virginia Thompson in a statement. ”The set must be dismantled at this time but we hope to rebuild it one day for potential future Corner Gas projects, although we have no definite plans in place for such a project at this time.”

The series wrapped in April 2009. The sale will take place from March 25-27 at the Canada Saskatchewan Production Studios.
