Corus launches OWN Canada website

Corus Entertainment has launched the OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network Canada website, to be managed by Agility CMS.

The online destination combines content from U.S. and Canadian shows now airing on OWN Canada that bowed on March 1.

The Agility site redirects users from the geo-gated ownca.oprah.com website, and integrates Facebook and other social media linked to the U.S. content.

Featured on the new OWN Canada site are TV hosts like Anna Walner and Kristina Matistic of the Canadian series Anna and Kristina’s Grocery Bag (pictured).

The OWN Canada website was built in just under a month, and saw Corus developers code a CMS Agility site.

Allan Tanaka, technical project manager at Corus Entertainment, said the website launched without a hitch.

“We can now easily update all of our content and we have the flexibility to customize many of our pages and templates, all within Agility,” he added.

Besides OWN Canada, Corus has three other female-focused websites – Wnetwork.ca, MyVIVA.ca, and CosmoTv.ca.

Corus acquired the Canadian rights to OWN, a joint-venture between Winfrey’s Harpo Inc. and Discovery Communications, through a licence agreement with OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.
