Cameras have just started rolling in Toronto on Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, the follow-up to the 2006 game adaptation that went on to gross almost $100 million at worldwide box office.
Production duties are shared by Davis Films’ Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody of Don Carmody Productions. The two recently paired for box office blow-out Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D.
Silent Hill 2 is directed by Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane), and stars Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones).
Alliance Films will distribute in Canada with international being handled by Lionsgate.
“We are all excited to have the Silent Hill team reunited in Toronto,” observed Hadida. “With Michael at the helm, we will be building on the first film and taking Silent Hill into new territory with an exciting storyline and visuals that should grab both new audiences and fans of the Silent Hill franchise.”
Silent Hill is based on the Konami videogame franchise.
