CFC teams bring the funny to L.A.

As part of the Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab, presented by the CFC and Telefilm, six teams of filmmakers will be making their way to Los Angeles to work with comedy pros on their own projects.

It’s the final component of the program that will run from March 7-11, and will include workshops, master classes and one-on-one sessions as the teams work on the scripts and packaging for investment.

Mentors and guests include Jimmy Miller (Mosaic Media Group; Elf, Talladega Nights), John Hamburg (I Love You, Man, Zoolander), Kirsten Smith (The Ugly Truth, Legally Blonde) and Daniel Goldberg (The Hangover, Due Date), to name a few.

Projects include Cold Blooded Snakes from Darius Films (Nicholas Tabarrok, Stephen Kunc), The Wild Society from El Duo Motion Pictures (Robert Scarborough, Shawn Myrick, Matthew Atkinson, Brendan Gall), and Project 10 Productions’ horror comedy The House They Screamed In (Andrew Barnsley, Vivieno Caldinelli, Bob Kerr), My Asshole Neighbour from Quadrant Motion Pictures (Mary Anne Waterhouse, Andrew Currie, Robert Chomiak); Combustion Inc.’s Nearly Wed (Bruce Harvey, Grant Harvey, Jason Filiatrault), and Cirrus Communications’ Atlantic Gold (Antonello Cozzolino and Josee Vallee, John Hazlett).

The Comedy Lab is a CFC Film program in collaboration with Just For Laughs, and is chaired by Eugene Levy (pictured).

Projects were previously announced last November.
