In the latest sign festival films are moving towards on-demand distribution, online movie channel Eurocinema has tapped four Scandinavian titles for Canadian VOD audiences.
Eurocinema has pacted with Nordisk Film & TV Fond and Diva.AG to launch the Scandinavian On Demand Film Festival from May 1 on Rogers Cable and Shaw Cable.
The on-demand Nordic film festival follows the successful film adaptations of the popular Stieg Larsson novels, and this year’s best foreign film Oscar going to Susanne Bier’s In a Better World (pictured).
The Scandinavian titles to be part of the Eurocinema VOD festival include the Norwegian film Limbo, by filmmaker Maria Sodahl, which had its international bow at the Montreal World Film Festival; Suddenly, by Swedish director Johan Brisinger; and two films by Danish filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel, King’s Game and Truth About Men.
The films will be available on Eurocinema On Demand for $4.99 to $6.99 per-title.
