Only eight months into his stint as CEO of the National Screen Institute, Derek Luis has left the Winnipeg-based org.
“The decision was mutual and we wish him well on his future endeavors,” a spokesperson for the NSI told Playback Daily. “The board has struck a search committee and are hopeful we’ll have a replacement shortly.”
In the meantime, NSI director of finance David Pollock has stepped in as interim managing director.
“We would like to thank Derek for the enthusiasm he brought to the position and wish him every success in his next opportunity,” said NSI board co-chairs Brad Pelman and Raja Khanna in a statement.
Luis joined the NSI in June 2010. He came to the org boasting experience from the NFB, CFC, Bell Bell Broadcast & New Media and at SUN TV/Quebecor.
