It turns out The Amazing Race did indeed have unfinished business with Canadian audiences.
The long-running reality show premiered its 18th season on Sunday on CTV, pitting “favorite” teams from previous seasons against one another in a shiny new HD format.
The show garnered 2.66 million viewers for the first episode, a 14% increase over its average audience last season. The show peaked at 3.15 million viewers at 8:53 p.m. (BBM Canada).
CTV also reported increases over last season’s average audiences in three demos, with increases of 34% in the 18- to 34-year-old demo, 23% in the 18- to 49-year-old demo, and 29% for adults 25 to 54.
The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business airs this Sunday at 7 p.m. before the Academy Awards red carpet pre-show.
