Veteran actor Cayle Chernin passes

Veteran Canadian actor Cayle Chernin, 63, died Friday in Toronto after a short battle with cancer.

Chernin made a name appearing in the role of Selina in the classic 1970 Canadian film Goin’ Down The Road by Don Shebib, and also performed in the Dennis Hopper-starrer Tracks, from director Henry Jaglom.

Her more recent acting credits include Little Mosque on the Prairie and Queer as Folk.

Chernin reprised her role as Selina in Shebib’s upcoming feature Down The Road Again, and reportedly kept her illness a secret until after the final shots were in the can.

Chernin was laid to rest Sunday at a private graveside service in Toronto.

She is survived by her husband Dwight McFee.

Details on an upcoming memorial service for the actor are to be announced.
