Denis Villeneuve is to receive a film retrospective at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

As Villeneuve’s Incendies contends for Oscar bling in the best foreign language competition, Karlovy Vary booked the Quebec director to attend the 46th edition of the prestigious European film festival next July.

Villeneuve will introduce a complete retrospective of his work, including Maelström (2001) and Polytechnique (pictured, 2009), which earned Genies.

Also showcased in the Villeneuve spotlight are two of his shorts, including the Cannes winner Next Floor (2008).
